Many smaller Shopify businesses leave logos from their business planning, even though any successful business or marketing individual will tell you it’s essential for success. But why is it so important?

As a quick test, think of some of the biggest brands in the world: Apple, Microsoft, Google, and Nike. Now think of their logos.

Each of these major brands has an immediately recognizable brand logo. When we see these logos, we know the products are backed by a reputation we can trust. But more than trust, logos are essential to establishing a successful brand in an ever-growing global market. Here’s why.

First impressions

Most often, the Shopify logo is the first impression a customer has of the store. It’s on the store header and announces your brand.

If your logo establishes interest in the customer, the customer will stay. They’ll browse your catalog, buy a product, and hopefully come back for more in the future.

They’ll also remember the logo down the road. If they liked your product and see it in the future, they’ll remember the experience associated with your logo and buy again. Repeat this a few times and you’ve got yourself a loyal, repeat customer.

Brand identity and uniqueness

An effective logo is a quick introduction to your products or what makes you different. It helps clients understand what you are selling and your aesthetic or unique appeal.

If you are selling luxury products, a luxury logo establishes that association with the buyer. They then know they are at the right place.

It also helps your brand stand out. No matter what niche you’re in, you’ll have competitors. The logo and brand image will help you stand out from the crowd. We know it sounds basic but consumer love brands that look good.

Grabs and holds the attention of the consumer

We all know the time a store has to grab and hold a customer’s attention is very short. In fact, most brands have between 3 to 10 seconds to convey their brand message and hook a potential client to their store.

A logo helps with the process. Instead of having a bold block of text describing your business mission, you showcase your logo.

A good logo conveys the company message and makes for a great accompaniment to the company name. That’s all you need to establish that initial connection which then hopefully turns into a sale.

Establish brand loyalty

As mentioned earlier, great logos are immediately recognizable. If you have an established brand or hope to create one, the logo will signal your reputation to customers. People who see your logo will know it can be trusted.

But it also helps establish brand loyalty. Big brands put their logo on all their products. Many people choose these products because they hold a special significance to the logo and the brand. Having that symbol becomes a point of pride.

To them, there is nothing better. The message wouldn’t work as well if it wasn’t backed by a clearly thought-out and maintained logo and image.
