About the Shopify business
Sticks & Socks sells upmarket and luxury dog products that are sustainable and better for dogs and humans. Our target market is younger dog owners, young professionals who have dogs instead of children and families with dogs. We have a physical store in Manchester, UK as well as online. The store has ben named one of the best stores in the world in a recent book published by Courier Media. Sticks & Socks is looking to grow its offerings online and attract more customers from around the world.

Initially we chose Squarespace when we first built the website. But after a few months we became disappointed with the results and whilst design wise the website worked perfectly and suited our brand, the usage didn’t. We switched to Shopify and when searching for themes, Broadcast fit our design and usage needs straightaway. The product page layouts is our favourite feature as it allows us to add a lot of information for each products. The downside for us is the main page, ideally it could be more customisable however we still find it great.

We really love the slick, simple and image focused design of Broadcast. We particularly like the product and collection image styles however we would like to see more built in functionality on the product pages themselves. Broadcast has been simple to use and the one time we needed support we had a quick and thorough help from the theme creators.

We liked that it was easy and quick to set up and still has a professional look while using a given preset and keeping it simple. Would like to see one or two more pre-set styles available in the theme. Would also like to see it working better with video. The theme seems to be a bit slow depsite doing all the recommendations to speed up our store. The customer service was good. Overall happy with the store and the options it offers.

About the Shopify business
This theme is perfect for my startup homeware business where I had to set up my own website without any previous experience, and me being not tech savvy in the slightest. Currently my business is still in its infant stages as I am juggling a demanding full time job trying to find time to properly run a business. I have a few lines currently with limited stock, but I want to expand my offering and add a few complimentary lines as well.
Describe the experience
What I love about this theme is the ease in setting it all up, and just about any question I had was already answered for me within the Shopify app. Once the theme is downloaded it just makes sense to follow the prompts and before you know it's there right in front of your eyes you see your own website taking shape. It is a very proud moment and I for one never thought I’d be capable of setting up my own website.

I've wasted quite a bit of money trying multiple premium themes for my store and now that I've found Broadcast I'm happy to say that I won't be looking for a new theme anytime soon. It's light weight but its got lots of amazing features which means that I don't need to spend as much on apps which slow my site down. I use the clean version of the theme which looks so elegant and perfect for me niche. Elements that I love are the siblings feature and the flexibility with customising the theme without having to add extra code. I highly recommend Broadcast to anyone looking for a great theme.
The support team at have are also outstanding with their quick response times and helpful advice. They were always willing to help me troubleshoot any issues I had and never made me feel like I was asking silly questions. The overall experience has been incredible.

Its super easy to use, add photos. You can customise your home page easy with a large selection of different layouts and add in sections easily. Its a clean look which is perfect for my brand. The creators are super responsive if you have any problems. I still haven't been able to link my IG though, due to problems. The only thing I would improve would be to allow to add video.

One thing I've noticed is that some of the ways that the product pages are set up doesn't allow flexibility or change (without actually coding). This might just be that we haven't figured it out yet- but we haven't been able to figure out how to do specials or sale specials for a group of products. So for instance - 3 for $75 - where you create product bundles. That would be a great addition.

The improvements that we would like to suggest are the minor friendly customizations for the menu items. Chthonic means mysterious but what is in our products is not. Each product is handmade using the purest ingredients found, including 100% organic essential oils, natural colors, and natural waxes making these products clean, vegan, all natural and organic.
Describe the experience
I use this to theme to showcase multiple collections of different products. It is really nice especially if you have more than one type of product like in our case, candles, body scrubs, bath salts, room sprays and more. It is very easy to swap out products and broadcast them all on the main landing page. This is a critical component as this is the first page buyers will see and showcasing an assortment is great conversion tool that this theme supports.
Very easy to use, navigate and constantly make updates to. As a company that has exclusive collections and products during certain seasons, this theme makes it really easy to update products at any given time. I also like how easy it is to edit the code in the back end and make it fit your needs.

Queen’s Touch Co. is a Dessert Candle store. We first launched in 2018 then in 2020 we had switched to using Shopify for our business. Best decision ever made! We have been able to evolve our store and brand along with our theme. It took some time getting use to it, but with anything it takes practice before you can really get the hang of it. I absolutely love how my brand has evolved and I highly recommend anyone that’s starting out or looking for a fresh look to their brand to give the Broadcast theme a try. I love the modern feel of theme and the aesthetic of this theme. I really like the special features that are available for the home page. I think it helps give my website a unique feel. I also like the formatting for the description pages. The only difficulty I’m experiencing is when I updated to the newest version, customers kept complaining that they are unable to add products to their cart from the product page because the button was grayed out. When they were able to add to cart there was no indication of the item being added to the cart. I think this has affected our conversion score a bit. Also I was only able to use the up-sale in cart feature once I upgraded the theme.

I really appreciate your step by step guide on editing the theme. However, I’d like to see if the previously mentioned problems could be solved. For example, making the ‘add to cart button’ not look grayed out. It seems that this makes the products look sold out when they’re not.

We are a baby items store that launched in April 2021. We initially used a free Shopify theme that we customized ourselves but after our first year in business, we wanted to upgrade so we went with the Broadcast theme and our shop looks much more professional than it used to.

I am using the Broadcast theme for a book shop. I love the flexibility of the product page as well as the new features that appear every few months are so. The support team is great and has helped me to make minor improvements that support my goals. Shoppers have also commented on how easy it is to shop and how beautiful the theme is. One of the things I love is the mobile experience. With the menu in the header it helps make it easy for mobile shoppers to access the site and checkout. I also love the header and footer and how flexible it is to have a transparent header on the home page and a normal header everywhere else.

The only reccomendations we have would be to help with sections in the way you can choose different sizing for mobile optimization within the theme. So sections look tighter and closer together, and being able to upload images that sync easily from mobile to desktop.

I've been using this theme since 2020 and I'm very happy with it. The design is beautiful and the functionality has been just what I'm looking for. There were a couple tweaks that I wanted to make early on and I was able to find a tutorial from the developer of the theme to modify the code and fix it myself. I was so grateful for this since I was about to pay a freelance developer to help me! Haven't had any major bugs since my store's launch and that's what I'm truly grateful for. I have no plans to change themes anytime soon because Broadcast is just what I need.

We handcraft botanical skincare (balms, serums, face oils, cleansers...) for a very niche market: rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and sensitive skin. We launched in 2020 to a basic Shopify theme then upgraded to Broadcast which we love. The business is going well, growing every month and at the point now where we need to expand our headquarters.

Title sub-headings cannot be edited (size, bold... specifically) or at least I couldn't figure how to edit them. At the moment, sub-headings appears too small on my website and is hard to read. My store is a personalized jewelry store. We create custom nameplate necklaces, earrings, bracelets. We use many different materials such as acrylic, gold, silver, platinum. We hand make everything and some of the jewelry is cut with our laser machine called a Glowforge. We also do personalized engraved wooden photos and more.

I absolutely love the theme. I had never purchased a Shopify theme before but loved all of the built in features. Shopify relies on apps for everything which slow your site down so having a lot of stuff built in was great. I love how everything flows such as when scrolling through images. I wish there was a way to update the theme without having to customize everything after each update. That is a Shopify thing but it would be great if somehow the developer could have an updating app so that the changes won’t pull over a blank theme. After several updates you tend to just not update anymore because it is annoying to have to make it identical to what I had prior to the update. This is for all themes I’ve had so I really wish Shopify would make that easier.

This theme was selected after working with an agency that found the theme to fit our needs. Our marketing tactics are heavily in blog content and SEO optimization. Education is a big part of our business given that our product is quite niche and we want customers to fully understand what it is and is not and feel comfortable consuming it. Having a theme that highlights blog content, whether it be educational, mocktail/cocktail recipes, or announcing events we are attending and hosting, the Broadcast theme makes it easy to highlight and link products through these blogs.
Customization and autonomy was key for us when selecting a theme. Having customization on the individual sizing of images and fonts for independent blocks. I have had my dev team create custom blocks to give me more flexibility here so that the content comes across cleaner between desktop, tablet and mobile. Having this level of customization is an issue I had with my previous theme as well, so being able to have independent sizing customization would be great to have. Another big issue I am experiencing is speed score for the site. I try to reduce the amount of 3rd party apps I have installed, they're essentially Klaviyo, ReCharge and some social media and accounting services. The current score of my site is ~20 and there are really no easy ways for me to increase my score. Having a developer of the theme who understands all the code of it to provide suggestions and make edits on the backend would be a HUGE help.
