We launched our specialty-grade, roasted-to-order coffee company a year ago. Our target market is conservative-minded coffee drinkers. I've been super happy so far in using this theme. I quickly chose this theme and have stuck with it because I have had no issues. I am really proud of how my website has turned out given that I am not a techy person and I have created this all on my own! I have not had any significant roadblocks at all. Any small issues I have had can be resolved with a little reading.

My only feedback is that it is a little confusing how to create pages from templates and then arrange them. I seem to be using the same template for multiple pages and then it changes all my pages. There is probably a very easy answer for this, but I am not the most patient thorough person so possibly make it more obvious for people like me.

About the Shopify business
Copper Pot & Wooden Spoon is an artisan food business specializing in handcrafted jams, pickles and gourmet gift boxes. We have been in business for over 10 years, used Shopify for 5 years and the Venue theme for the past two years. We like the storytelling capability and clean look of Venue.
Describe the experience
Venue was easy to setup and customize for the look of our store. It offers a good amount of navigation menu options, drag and drop storytelling and featured product blocks work well for customizing pages. It has a clean look and loads and runs smoothly. Never have experienced any bugs or glitches.
We like the Header Shop Announcement Bar for adding sales and free shipping offers. Only downside to the header is we would like to be able to have a larger logo and perhaps another Header/Value Prop Line right below the Header/Main Navigation Menu. Another suggestion that would be nice is to have an "Add Gift Note" option built into the product page. Some of these things can be accomplished with additional apps or experienced coding, though we have not found an option yet that works for us.
Overall would recommend Venue for someone looking to build and setup their own site...we did it all in house with average computer skills.

Would like to have a better blog post building page that incorporated Featured Products into blog posts for ease of promotion and upselling.
Also would like to see a drag and drop block option to add a text field onto product pages for "Add a Gift Note" (we just use special instructions box on cart page, but if guest chooses a quick pay option like Apple Pay or Shop Pay they sometimes miss this).

We launched our company over 8 years ago. We used fishbowl previously but now we are using you guys (Shopify) and loving it! It is some much easier, faster and smoother. I like the home page and I like how the listings/products look. The only thing that I would like to see if more options for the formatting of the additional pages. There don't seem to be (or I can't find them) options for formatting other pages besides the home page.

Describe the experience
I love the ease of use and versatility of the Venue theme. This allows me to change small parts of my website instantly. There are tons of apps that integrate well into the theme as well. I’ve taken advantage of the resources provided, including experts, but have struggled to truly bring my website up to date. I currently use an older version of Venue, and as a 2 person company where neither of us have any UX or coding experience, we’ve found ourselves unable to update our theme. The newest version removes certain glitches and has additional capabilities we could really benefit from. Unfortunately, we feel a little stuck.

About the Shopify business
I sell essential oil aromatherapy and skin care products that I developed and I make by hand in my studio. I started this business in 2016 after a job loss forced me to look at a new career path. I started a website nearly right off the bat but quickly out grew our first ecommerce site and switched to a Shopify website about three years ago. I still wanted to have full control of the design and set up so Shopify was a good fit. We sell to mostly women between the ages of 30 – 65. We also sell quite a bit of wholesale but not through our Shopify site.
Describe the experience
I love the look of this theme and the easy of use. The theme is clean and professional looking and easy to navigate. My initial set up took a little getting used to as I came from a site that was drag and drop. Once I got the hang of it adding and designing pages was a breeze. I recently went through a rebrand of sorts and keeping the same feel of the site while changing the look was really easy. I needed to contact support during the initial setup and they were very quick to answer my questions and get everything squared away. I've had no issues since and it's been smooth sailing. Would highly recommend.

One function that I’d like to see improved is the email list flyout. Ideally, I’d like to use it because it effortlessly fits the look of the website, but its lack of customizability makes it useless, so I just turn it off. I was unaware of some really great updates for a long time, and I almost installed some secondary apps to do the exact thing that the update did for us. Overall the theme works well for us.

We have both a bricks and mortar store and our website. We sell musical instruments such as crystal singing bowls, Himalayan Bowls, gongs, flutes, chimes, handpans, tongue drums and native drums to sound practitioners, yoga teachers, meditators and people who are looking to find peace in their lives. We have been open for 4 years and are rapidly growing. The Venue theme is the 4th theme we have used and we are sticking with it. I like the ease of use when making changes to my website. Your support is great too. I love the look of the Venue theme, including the Mega Menu at the top.
It took me some time to understand how to move around the theme to make changes to pages inside and outside the theme but once I understood how to do it, all is great. I was very happy when you updated the theme so I could put different images or videos on different pages for my different product collections. I haven't had time to do that but look forward to using that feature. I have been frustrated that the Venue theme didn't have some features and that I have had to spend extra money to purchase the following apps to take my store to the next level: Smart Product Filter and Search, Bundle Builder, Avada Invoice Order Printer, Wishlist Plus, Search and Discovery. If any of these features could be part of the theme it would be excellent.

I make custom pet portrait products for obsessed pet parents, the products range a lot but I make everyday goods just with pets faces on them. I launched in June of 2020 during the pandemic for extra income but I didn't start making money until about 6 months ago. My target market is 25-35 year olds, who probably treat their pets like their children.

We are a gift shop who sells handmade items that are Canadian made. We launched in 2014 and our target market is mostly women who like unique gifts and supporting small business. We have grown greatly in the last couple year, but would love to hit some big growth goals this year.

The biggest reason we chose this theme was because of the navigation. We have an extensive nav that needed to be clean and this was the only one that I found that worked like I envisioned. We’ve added a couple apps for things we needed, like a strikeout through sold out products, a better functionality and a consignment vendor portal.

About the Shopify business
Posterity Ciderworks is a small batch alcoholic cidery. We utilize local and foraged fruit to make fine dry ciders. We have a tasting room in Mokelumne Hill, CA as well as are featured in several James Beard and Michelin recognized restaurants in California. You can buy our ciders on our website along with branded merchandise and memberships.
Describe the experience
Overall, our website looks pretty polished. We have some nice photos and the functionality of the template and the apps we use work pretty well. We hired a Shopify certified web developer to make our website, they chose this theme on our behalf.
I don’t like how difficult it is to find where to update pages. I have to poke around a lot between the various drop downs and tabs in Shopify to find the right place. There’s also a level of code somewhere in the backend that is inaccessible to me as the business owner (or at least I cannot find it).
The theme seems to struggle with pulling video from YouTube for the main header imagery/video options and there’s no templates for press pages or awards, both of which I’d like to add to our site but haven’t found an elegant solution on how to do it and be able to add to the page as we continue to grow.

Describe the experience
Interesting enough, I only used a theme expert to set up my Shopify website, and once it was up and running I found the theme very intuitive and easy to use and update myself. I had some trouble with slow loading pages and the overall speed of my website, so I hired a Shopify expert to optimize my website.

About the Shopify business
The Dry Goods Beverage Co. is an online store for non-alcoholic wine, spirits and cocktail alternatives. We launched in 2021 and ship across the US. We've seen really strong growth in our first ~18 months in business and many people comment on how great our website looks. Our target market is adults of legal drinking age, especially Millennials, but we also sell a fair amount to Gen X and Boomers who are often avoiding alcohol for health reasons.
Describe the experience
The theme is overall very easy to use. I manage the website myself and haven't had any issues. There is lots of flexibility to add / remove / customize content blocks on the homepage so that I can easily keep the site feeling fresh. The theme developers are also extremely responsive to support inquiries and even created a piece of custom code for me so that I could change the "buy" button color on our product pages.

I wish it was easier to create new page layouts just like you can for the homepage. I also wish I had more flexibility to add ancillary content on product pages, and product links on blog post pages. For example, we have a library of recipes, and I'd like to show examples of the recipes on the relevant product pages. On the recipe page, I'd like to link to the product.

Since 2010, Fortress has offered handmade women's shoes, made responsibly in Peru. Fortress offers boots, mules, flats, sandals and more. We've been using the Venue theme for around 4 years and it's definitely the best theme we've come across. There are numerous options for page design that we've been able to take advantage of. There are a handful of things that we would like to be updated, but nothing too major.

The more section options and layout options the better. I would like to see photo cropping tools like I have seen in other themes, rather than using photoshop to make my images circle and transparent with a png. I have seen some themes have lots of options with how the photos are framed. Also self hosted inline videos would be great as currently you have to use a third party service and the playback is not nearly as good from YouTube and video as it is with the self hosted players.

About the Shopify business
I sell posative Christian clothing to families/ people in north America. I use the Venue theme for my clothing business and it's pretty awesome. My business is going pretty well and the clothing im selling is getting out there. I mainly sell to ages 2-50 big age gape but because it's a physical product it's often bought by older customers and given as gifts to younger.

It's a good theme if you want a new modern looking website, lots of customizations you can do with it. It has nice custom sections/ ability's it can accommodate for what your trying to do with your business. I really like the developers that made it. There help is very valuable, I should send them a star bucks lol. I have some basic knowledge of coding because I took some classes in Alberta but any question or inquiry I had they were always there to help or show me what to do or where to get more help. Since there is not a lot of hands and feet so to speak / people working for me. Safe as Milk almost became those extra team members i couldn't really afford. The Venue theme looks cool or at least my site turned out pretty dam good! =)

It would be cool if the pop up message box, had a longer wait time. I know right now the pop up message box comes up after 5,10 or 15 sec. It would be nice if there was a 30 sec to 1min option or something. My social media teacher said it's good to not have too much automatic pop ups coming too soon before your customer has time to learn about your brand and know what you are selling, "It can annoy them" I agree, I like this feature a lot though.

About the Shopify business
Craft Brewery producing and selling craft beer in Ontario, Canada. We launched our online store about 5 years ago, and revamped it with the Venue theme early on in COVID to enhance our online sales as we pivoted from instore to online. The theme certainly gave a more cohesive, fluid and thorough presence.
Describe the experience
Menu system, product animations on pages, FAQ, Pages integration and options. It works well, and I'm sure there is more we can tap into. Allowing extra panels in the main page has worked well to highlight products. This theme allowed us to integrate our company webpage into our shop page, reducing duplication and confusion.

Some extra documentation might be helpful, but in general the info is there. Really it does work pretty well. Maybe having an adjustable stock level to highlight low stock (default is 30) we sell options of products in a page. Single Can, 6 pack, or cases of 24. So a low stock of 30 cases is not really as low as say 30 single cans?

Describe the experience
The customer service is literally what I go for choosing a theme. And Safe As Milk has the best one. They write detailed emails with examples of pictures showing arrows pointing to things, as well as explainer videos. Legendary, fast service. The theme is alright - it's beautiful but missing the complexity I need. So I had to get a lot of coding jobs done on it to add functionality and more beauty.

About the Shopify business
The Shopify store Sassy Paw has launched at the beginning of March. The store is center around pet's specifically dogs and cats. My target market happens to be pet owners, people with dogs and cats. People who are into simplifying the way they take care of their pets; their daily routines with pets in general. So far it's been really slow with sales. I've managed to get one sale, however, it was from a supporting relative. I've used ads on Pinterest which drove traffic to my store, however, there were no conversions. I'm also using Instagram as well to build an organic audience.

As I've stated in the previous questions, I really do have a liking for the Venue theme which I am currently using. I really enjoy the overall design of the website, the modern touch to it. It's interesting how the theme has a bit of animation to it when you happen to scroll further down the landing page/home page. I really like the different sections that you are able to add. My favorite one I would say is the image with the text, where the text is kind of hovering over the image!

Originally I started off using the Brooklyn theme until I was able to purchase a paid theme. The Brooklyn theme was good to start out with, however, I wanted something simplistic like the Bro
