About the Shopify business
We sell natural skincare products for those looking for a non toxic approach to skin health. As a Holistic Master Esthetician and having extremely complicated skin myself, I developed a skincare system that works in partnership with how the skin functions at its best. Veologē was launched 5 years ago for my clients and is more recently sold throughout the US online, thanks to Shopify!
Describe the experience
Atlantic was the only theme I liked. The esthetic is clean, high end and professional. It’s just what I was hoping for and I didn’t need to spend $8,000-$10,000 on a graphic designer!
I do wish Atlantic had at least a little design flexibility to make boxes and photos smaller, to add paragraphs and separate text lines within certain sections or choose alignment.
If you aren’t tech savvy, it can also be hard navigate and making changes on the back end. A friend recently helped add a email opt in section that has access to a downloadable PDF. I wanted to make a change on the wording and spent almost an hour trying to find this section. And I still can’t find where I can update the text that shows up on google. At this point I will contact the support team but it would be nice to not have to.
Overall I absolutely love this theme and would highly recommend!!

I think for me developing the blog was a little confusing. I'm not a Shopify expert by any means so maybe that's part of the problem as well. It took me longer than I think it should to figure out the difference between the 'blog posts' and 'pages' and how to get my blog to accurately display on my site.

Lifestyle apparel brand for Bermuda since 2018. Designed for Bermudians by Bermudians. We create Island inspired goods for local retailers, clubs, sports teams, and non-profits. The target market is Bermuda residents and visitors. We sell a limited amount of items directly to North American customers as well. It's going well.

Love the simplicity of the theme. It does most of what we hope to achieve. For what we can't do on our own, Hey Carson has been a tremendous resource for customizing to better meet our needs. We also use a few add-on apps which connect well most of the time.

About the Shopify business
We launched Common Ground in April 2019 with the intent to create purpose driven wellness products that are all cbd based. Coming from a conservative background, my target was really to share the power of plant medicine with those who traditionally rely on pharmaceuticals and avoid plant products due to the stigma surrounding the canna industry. At the time we knew the only way to accomplish this was with an elevated brand that appealed to higher end markets as opposed to trying to squeeze in to the “stoner culture” segment of the market. When Covid hit almost a year after we launched, it was more important than ever that our website showcase our luxury wellness products in a way that translates quickly to the customer that we are different.

We loved that the theme was so easy to use to create a modern and clean home for our business. Common Ground has been self funded since we launched so it was important that we were able to build a working site without much need for outsourcing help with the build.

Honestly, for us we didn’t run in to any issues as we were building Common Ground and found that we had everything we needed including space for blog and education, as well as the ability to be a very image-forward site.

About the Shopify business
Haircare products. 2019 launch target audience women 25 to 45. Brand is doing very well. I am very satisfied with this theme option. There have been a few hiccups with the theme and updates that I have not received any notification on. In the future I would suggest that the theme developer send email notifications with all updates.

The theme is very sleek and easy to use. I initially hired a web designer to build my website. She was able to give the site the look and feel that I wanted. My web designer also added in all of the customizations to my site.

I think this is a great option. However, I have had issues in the past where I wasn’t receiving emails on my site because of a theme update that I was not aware of. This was a huge inconvenience.

My business is Hypnovamp: Shadowy atomic jewelry for space witches, founded in 2016. I am primarily a silversmith but I also incorporate a lot of 3d printing into my work. My target audience is women in their 40s-50s who come from an alternative, punk, or gothic background. It's going very well and I am happy with my experience using Shopify!
Describe the experience
I love how user friendly and easy to edit the Atlantic theme is! I do a lot of timed collection drops and often have to tweak things last minute to get everything to flow smoothly, and it has always worked great! One thing I don't like it how the main image of a collection populates so much space on the site. for this reason I often leave my collection images black because I don't want it to be so large. This is probably because more of my photos are vertically oriented, but its something to note. It would be nice to be able to control the size.

About the Shopify business
The product is a wide variety of jewelry, from inexpensive fashion jewelry to diamonds and other gemstones. There is a brick and mortar store as well as a website which is currently being used primarily as an extension of the brick and mortar store. The store launched about 10 years ago and the website was developed about 5 years ago.

I have not had to do much work to the website over the years, other than updating photos and adding new jewelry designers. I have also changed some of the product categories and hierarchy of display on the site. As a relatively inexperienced person when it comes to website design and maintenance, I have found the Atlantic theme to be very straightforward when it comes to making changes and improvements.

About the Shopify business
I design and fabricate silver and gold jewelry and sell it in my online shop. My target market is anyone who loves artisan jewelry. I would like to increase my monthly sales. I mostly use Instagram as a means to market my website. I often sell one of a kind jewelry.

I wish I could change the look of the “sold out” button. I wish there was an option for putting things on the website that are “available soon” and also being able to make that button more prominent. I find it very challenging to know what size pictures are ideal for the home page and find they don’t look great on mobile when great on desktop or vice versa.

I think I explained a bit in the previous question. The homepage options could also improve quite a bit. The carousel with images and buttons is challenging to make it look good. You have to find a photo where the button will show up and work on top of the image. It’s challenging.

Handmade fetish gear launched in 2018. 49k followers on Instagram. Started on Etsy and moved to Shopify due to Etsy fees. We ship worldwide and Shopify is much easier to customise. Lots of items are very customisable and bespoke, customer data must also be kept private due to the nature of the business.

Great, very customisable with other apps and add ons. Regular updates and support from the designers. The design is minimal and clean, but easier to change colours/images/whats displayed on the front page. Basically I've never had an issues and that's why I continue to use the same theme after all these years.

Made with organic phyto therapeutic extracts and colloidal oatmeal. The company was founded in 2013 and started selling in 2018 after 5 years of research and development.
Describe the experience
The theme being used, Atlantic theme, is extremely heavy on mobile platforms. There are many scripts being added that slow down the site and it becomes impossible to clean it up. This results in low conversion rates and extremely high bounce rate. It becomes very hard to add apps and extensions to achieve the best possible results.
